Blairmains Farm Shop and the Coffee Bothy receive numerous requests each week from different organisations and charities seeking our support for a worthwhile cause. As much as we would love to help everybody, we realise that we simply cannot and therefore we need to be selective in how we manage our charitable donations.

Each year we will select a ‘charity of the year’. This means that all fundraising that we do, will throughout the year, go to our named charity. We will also display the charity’s collection cans. The period for this will run from 1st April until the following April. If you wish for your charity to be nominated please get in touch via our ‘Contact Us’ page by the end of February each year. We will then assess each nomination and select our ‘charity of the year’. Due to this we are no longer able to donate vouchers and hamper to individual charities. We hope that you will help us in our efforts to raise money for the charity of the year.

This years chosen charity is BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION SCOTLAND.
We are really excited to be supporting this charity as the work that they do is life saving.
Keep a eye out on this page and our facebook page for the various events we have planned for the year to help raise money for them.

In 2016 we arranged various events for our 2 specific chosen charities.
Alzheimer Scotland and the Euan Macdonald Research Centre in Edinburgh University for Motor Neurone Disease.
Both of these diseases are important and directly affect our family.
At each event Blairmains Farm Shop and The Coffee Bothy’s are absorbing the hard costs, which we anticipate to be in the region of £8000, therefore we will not have further funds available for the remainder of this year for charitable donations. We thanks everyone for their support, please follow our facebook page for more information on these events.

We just wanted to share a quick update with you all, to date we have raised just over £18,000 for our 2 nominated charities with donations still coming in.
